On the way to Kentucky I stopped at a McDonald’s to grab something to eat. For anyone that knows me, I almost always order from the value menu (each place has their own name for it but it’s basically items for $1). I got two McChickens and a double cheeseburger (which for some reason was called something different, like a McDouble or something - can’t remember but it’s the only place I’ve seen it). McDonald’s food is basically exactly what you expect from paying that price. This time on the way back from Kentucky I decided to try Burger King, which I have not had in a very long time. I got a Whopper Jr., Spicy Chick’n Crisp, and the 4 pc. Chicken Tenders. The chicken tenders were shaped like crowns and were not too good - pale looking and the meat was dry. It reminded me of grade school chicken nuggets except that I think they might just be worse. The chicken sandwich was actually pretty good and the Whopper Jr. is basically just a smaller version of the Whopper. What I like about Burger King better than McDonald’s is that they actually use lettuce whereas the McDonald’s lettuce is really thin shredded lettuce. I have to say that Burger King has my vote for value meals in the future. The only problem is finding one since McDonald’s locations are significantly more numerous.
